An immersive and reflective program focused on partnering students with individuals with autism to learn more about how they experience the world. This Camp aims to raise awareness to the need for more understanding for people with mental exceptionalities and making sure they can get the same experience in a camp as anyone else. This year, we will focus on autism and other mental illnesses at Camp Royall in Moncure, NC.Travel dates are set for March 14-March 21st, 2026. Additional time should be set aside for team meetings, which will be recurring and required for those chosen to participate.The total cost for this trip will be $300 per student for the entire week. For Homecoming Week, SG at the Sarasota-Manatee campus will be providing transportation to the Homecoming Tailgates and Football game vs. FAU! The DEPARTURE TIME will be released once the kickoff time for the game is posted.YOU MUST RIDE THE BUS FROM USF SARASOTA-MANATEE TO THE GAME AND BACK TO ATTEND. The bus will leave the Sarasota-Manatee campus 3 1/2 hours before the game on October 18th. We should return to the Sarasota-Manatee campus around 1 1/2 hours after the game ends. Since its inception at an 1884 conference in Washington D.C., the prime meridian has functioned to implicitly serve the ambitions of the British colonial empire. Rather than serving as a "beacon of humanity," the prime meridian today more resembles a bygone imperial relic. Minorities in Medicine is partnering with Meals on Wheels to deliver fresh produce to homebound neighbors across Tampa. Meals on Wheels is an organization comitted to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently, with dignity and respect, in their own homes for as long as it is safely possible. Their mission is to provide homebound seniors in Tampa with fresh, nutritious meals and a daily visit from volunteers, nourishing, enriching, and strengthening the lives of seniors and individuals who have difficulty leaving their homes or preparing meals. 📍Location: 5320 North Blvd, Tampa, FL, 33603  ⏰Time: Volunteers should plan on arriving by 8:45 AM (please do not arrive more than 10 minutes early).What to expect:  Light walking in and out of vehicles to deliver meals/produce Comfortable, casual clothes recommended A chance to connect with fellow volunteers while making an immediate impact in our community.  We will have a quick orientation on route sheets and delivery instructions once everyone arrives. La Grande Illusion is a major exhibition of works by internationally acclaimed artist, Brian Maguire. The exhibition spans two decades of work that spotlights the artist’s lifelong quest to draw attention to global injustices, war, and human rights. One of Ireland's leading cultural figures, Maguire has turned the practice and tradition of painting into acts of visual testimony. Maguire’s paintings are global in scope and are derived from projects undertaken between 2007 and 2024 in Mexico, the Mediterranean, Syria, Sudan, the United States, and the Amazon.
