- Mar 710:00 AMMeals on Wheels with Minorities in Medicine!Hello MIMbers!. . . . We are excited to announce Minorities in Medicine has partnered with the nonprofit organization Meals on Wheels! The organization believes seniors have the right to live independently in the comfort of their own homes. Therefore their mission is to provide homebound seniors in Tampa with fresh nutritious meals and a daily visit from volunteers.. . . . WHERE: 5320 North Blvd, Tampa 33603. . WHEN: Friday, March 7th from 10:00AM - 12:00PM. . WHAT: Once everyone arrives, we will quickly go through an orientation and how to read the route sheet that includes turn by turn directions, recipients’ names, addresses, phone numbers and special instructions. Then you will load up your cars with hot bags and coolers and off you go! Routes take about an hour and a half to complete and we should be done by noon. . . . The Jeepney is a cultural symbol of the Philippines, which are also referred to as the "King of the Road." This event celebrates the beautiful and diverse culture of the Philippines as it will showcase the amazing talents of the Filipino community at the University of North Florida, the city of Jacksonville, and other participating Filipino Student Associations (FSAs) across Florida. The Association of Filipino Students at the University of South Florida will be tabling for their philanthropy Gawad Kalinga, which aims to end poverty in the Philippines.
