- Mar 308:00 AMSt. Pete Group RideWe are joining Roman Austin's campaign "Not Just a Cyclist" ride that is welcome to all skill levels at distances of 5, 25, and 50 miles. The 5-mile ride will be at 10-12 mph pace, 25 miles at 16-18 mph, and 50 miles at 20-25mph. The campaign focuses on advocating for cyclists’ rights and safety. The event will be on Sunday, October 27th at 8am, starting from Green Bench Brewing Co., with free parking at Tropicana Field. Following the ride will be free drinks, food, and a bike-building contest. Teams will compete to build youth bikes, which will be donated to the Boys and Girls Club of the Suncoast. - Mar 308:30 AMGround Up: Building Vertical Oyster AnchorsInterested in being outdoors and getting your hands a bit dirty in the process? Want to help in sustainability of life under water? Join us as we partner with the Oyster River Ecology in creating Vertical Oyster Garden Anchors (VOGAs). . . . . VOGA is made with assembling cured oyster shells on a stick. Which is then planted in bodies of water to help foster growth of oysters in the area. Volunteers would help with the assembly of these stakes.. . . . Please be sure to bring/wear:. . -Sunscreen. . -Bug spray. . -Water bottle. . -Weather appropriate clothing. . -Closed Toed shoes. . some sunscreen and sun protection (caps/hats) in addition to water and snacks. Also be sure to wear closed toed shoes that you do not mind getting a bit dirty.. . . . Gardening gloves, tools, equipment, and guidance will be provided.. . . .
